Professional Profile
Luis is a Board Certified professional
counselor and is licensed to practice counseling and psychotherapy in
the states of Florida and Michigan. As part of his training and
experience, he has worked with diverse populations presenting a wide
range of developmental and clinical concerns. Luis did his pre-doctoral
internship in professional psychology at The Ohio State University and
has worked as a psychological specialist at The University of Central Florida
Counseling Center. He is a professional
member of the American
Counseling Association and the
Mental
Health Counselors of Central Florida.
In terms of his transpersonal and psycho-spiritual work with clients, Luis has received training in theology, pastoral care, and the psychology of religious experience at Antillean Adventist University (Mayagüez, PR) and Andrews University (Berrien Springs, MI). In addition, he receives training in experiential and transpersonal psychotherapy with C. Michael Smith, Ph.D., author of Psychotherapy and the Sacred and Jung and Shamanism in Dialogue. Dr. Smith is a Jungian psychologist, medical anthropologist, and a Certified Focusing Trainer (The Focusing Institute).
